The Outside Project is the UK’s first LGBTIQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, queer plus anyone who doesn’t fit these specific labels but who is marginalised based on their sexuality, gender or gender expression and would benefit from and LGBTIQ+ space) crisis shelter and community centre. We are LGBTIQ+ colleagues, friends and activists who work in the Homeless sector & have lived experience of homelessness & the unique, complex issues our community face. We volunteered to launch the UK’s first LGBTIQ+ Crisis/Homeless Shelter and Community Centre.
We launched publicly at London Pride 2017, campaigning alongside the passionate & talented LGBTIQ+ community of activists & artists.
The Outside Project now runs a shelter, a DVA refuge and emergency COVID hotel spaces.
