I would like to nominate Laura MacKay and Fiona MacTaggart who at the beginning of lockdown drew together volunteers in and around the village of Tarbert.

They then ensured that older and vulnerable people were supported and looked after, with groceries, prescriptions, newspapers delivered. Seeing the volunteers at the door with hugs smiles and a friendly wave just lightened a very difficult time. Often there would be a little picture or suchlike drawn by some of the children in the village and it was a joy to then see the pictures in windows.

We live in a fairly small village and Team Tarbert ensured that our needs were well me while supporting the local businesses

Although the general delivery service has been suspended Fiona and Laura continue to ensure vulnerable people are not lonely. Most of the volunteers were working, home schooling their children and had their own personal commitments but never hesitated when a request was made for help

I do hope Fiona and Laura can be recognised for the great work they have done and continue to do
