Maurice is always one of the first to put his name down to get involved in anything we’ve got going on at Goodgym – in fact, our volunteering sessions just wouldn’t be the same without him. He always comes with a smile on his face, encouragement for others and with plenty of energy to tackle the task at hand. Maurice has been especially keen to get involved at the COVID vaccine centre. He’s been volunteering down at the hub every week, where he can usually be found on marshaling duty in the car park (in all weathers). You can read more about that here:

Maurice is also the first member of the Goodgym Crewe team to hit his ’50’ task milestone. That means that he’s volunteered on 50 separate occasions. We were are so proud of Maurice for hitting that milestone (we weren’t surprised that he was the first one to do it though ;-))

Maurice has also been involved with the People Helping Scheme run by Cheshire East Council and has always been a volunteer that can be relied upon to undertake the important volunteer roles. He has met many people along the way in various capacities and I know that he has gained as much out of volunteering as those on the receiving end of his help have.

In Maurice’s words… ‘I have met so many people along the way who have become my friends during these difficult times, and it goes to show that every cloud has a silver lining. I would recommend voluntary work to anyone who wants to improve both their mental and physical health’
