Sara is a local special school principal who also voluntarily leads and organises Dramability, alongside her mum Bette. Dramability is a mixed ability drama group founded in 1991 and based in Downpatrick Northern Ireland. There are currently 30 members ranging in age from 8 to 60+ who meet weekly to rehearse, have fun and join in the craic. Dramability put on 2 shows a year, including 1 pantomime. In addition to regular rehearsal sessions the members are offered theatre outings, short residential trips for adult members and an annual summer scheme. The group especially welcome children and adults with disabilities.

During the covid pandemic Sara continued to regularly stay in touch with all the members of the group. She coordinated many challenges for them including singing, dancing, drama, craft & makaton music videos (some of which went viral on social media!) Sara’s positivity and encouragement really helped to keep the members spirits up, especially since many of the members were in the shielding category due to their health problems/disability or had to stay at home due to schools being shut!
